about me

As a kid, I dreamed of being a fashion designer and got my first sewing machine from Santa in 4th grade. My love for thrifting, garage sale ing, and the thrill of the hunt for the perfect unique piece has driven my sense of style. For years I have dreamed of the perfect Gunne Sax dress, but I have never found one that fit my body. In fact, most of the interesting, unique vintage clothing, and much of the handmade items I saw, did not fit my body and I found this widely discouraging.

In 2024 I decided that if I couldn't find it, I needed to make it myself. I bought my first (adult) sewing machine in April and immediately started self drafting patterns of my favorite clothes. All my materials were coming from thrift stores and garage sales, with the occasional thread or needles bought from local small businesses. I was quickly making more clothes than I had room for, which led me to my first market in July, 2024. I knew right away that the market community in Portland was one I wanted to be a part of and I began applying to all sorts of events. Through that community I connected with local shops and began exploring selling my work in store. I have had my clothing in Alchemy Plants and Thrift for the past year and it has been so pivotal for me in deciding what is next for this little passion business of mine.

In May, I scored an embroidery machine on Facebook marketplace and began playing with a new way to create unique clothing, opening up a whole new passion. I was able to combine drawing and fiber arts through embroidery and create personal and custom designs. This idea has exploded into so many trials and I have had so much fun designing and creating all sorts of custom and personal designs. I am able to thrift all of the blank garments and bring new life to otherwise tossed aside clothing, destined for the landfill.

I guess all of this is to say, thank you for being here and for looking at what I have made with my hands and for supporting my childhood dream. Creating something out of nothing, or even better, out of trash, is by far one of my favorite activities, I'm so glad I get to share it with you!
